This week the long awaited Fanatec clubsport wheel launch is here. Not only that the much loved clubsport pedals are being replaced by the new Clubsport Pedal V2 model, the CSR Elite has its first Rim announced and finally fanatec have a new website.

First the Clubsport wheel.

The base.

The wheel is basically a base which contains no rim. This alone costs $/€450. The base is one of the most advanced piece of hardware avaliable to sim racers and contains two motors, a quick release mechanism to attach the rims and everything else you would expect from a high quality wheel. The base is constructed from metal and all parts, like the CSR elite base are high quality. The Clubsport base is only compatible with PC/PS3. The base can support a rim with upto 111 buttons.

The base which originally was due out in December will be avaliable to order on Thursday.

Forumula Rim

The Forumula rim for the clubsport wheel is a rim that is compatible with the CSW Base. The rim is made of metal with alcantara grips, has 11 buttons, a rotary encoder and LED rev indicators.

The rim will cost €/$180 and will also be available on Thursday.

BMW GT2 Rim

Fanatec entered in a partnership with BMW to produce one of the greatest looking sim-wheel to date. The wheel has 11 buttons and a rotary encoder, a big 350mm rim size and an LED rev light.

The BMW rim will retail for €/$250 and will be available to order on Thursday.

Fanatec Clubsport pedals V2

1. Look
The pedals now come in anodized black and polished aluminum parts which gives it a more exclusive and classy touch. Of course the colour kits are fully compatible so you can change the look to all black or combine it with grey, orange red or blue.

2. Hydraulic brake
We have added an oil damper to the load cell brake to give it a more realistic and dampenend feeling. The feeling can be adjusted by replacing the silicone oil and use different viscosity and by changing the spring tension on the damper. It is simple but very effective. We also made the load cell brake stiffer and with a shorter travel by default.

3. Degressive clutch mechanism
Our Japanese friend Teki Ei-Ichi developed a new mechanism for the clutch for us. It gives you a degressive feel just like in a real car. Of course you can still adjust the spring strength.

Price €/$250 avaliable thursday.

New fanatec CSR ELITE Formula Rim.

As we all know the CSR Elite is a great wheel (review), but hopefully it's going to be a bit greater with the launch of the formula rim. The rim will be avaliable in Q3 and was launched by Thomas and Sebastian Vettel at goodwood festival of Speed in the UK.

Specs:
The grips are made with artificial leather which is easy to clean and feel great.

Of course you will get the same robust metal construction and metal shifter paddles just like on the Formula rim for ClubSport Wheel. There is no quick release and the system is not designed to make rim changes very often. You need to unfasten two screws and unplug two cables so it is simple but it will take longer than the QR of the CSW. You also need to restart the wheel which means on PC you need to restart the game.

The rim will cost €/$ 180 and will be avaliable Q3 of 2012.

The new fanatec website.

The website will open at 12:00 tomorrow and will be where you can buy all of this equipment.
